The International Centre deals with the deployment of police officers going on assignments abroad. It is responsible for hosting visitors to the Brandenburg Police, for the management and delivery of international police projects and providing the students at the university with information about international police co-operation.

The international centre has the facilities to set up a Head Office for the delivery of international projects.

The International Centre organises internships for police officers going abroad and foreign police officers visiting the State of Brandenburg, providing the necessary logistical support and integrating them in an international network. All necessary contractual agreements are drafted by the International Centre.

The International Centre has two project teams that work on the following:

  • Pool for foreign police assignments
  • International Relations

They work jointly on more complex issues. 


 

The Pool for Foreign Police Assignments

The Pool for Foreign Assignments of the State of Brandenburg:

  • deploys police officers for participation in international police peace-keeping missions;

  • designs and runs the selection process for new recruits to the Pool for Foreign Assignments at the Assessment Centre;

  • organises the required basic, further and continuing training of police officers who have been admitted to the Pool for Foreign Assignments; 

  • assists the officers before, during and after their deployment abroad; 

  • is responsible for the mandatory agreements with other federal states and the federal government associated with foreign assignments.

International Relations

The work group dealing with international relations is responsible for the following tasks:

  • planning and organising exchanges for students as part of their training and study courses and for university staff (study visits, internships etc.);

  • assisting the teaching department with the planning and organising of residencies abroad; 

  • continuing the professional and cultural cooperation with the Police College in Słupsk (student and teacher exchanges, internships, and participation in sport and shooting competitions at both institutes); 

  • implementing measures within the framework of the European Union’s ERAMUS Programme; 

  • hosting foreign delegations;

  • establishing and developing an international network and ensuring a regular exchange of information with international partners; 

  • preparing the contractual agreements between the University of Applied Police Sciences and international partners; 

  • supporting project-related activities;

  • producing and updating documentation and preparing it for the media (internet, press and internal police publications).
